Best CBD Oil? How to Recognise Quality CBD Oil

We keep receiving questions about the quality of CBD oil and about why the oil tastes the way it does. That is why our Juri (molecular biologist) explains what you should look out for when searching for the best CBD oil and why a light, mild oil does not automatically mean higher quality or a greater effect.

The CBD oils that you can currently buy in our shops are made from a full extract and are rather dark. Besides terpenes and cannabinoids, they also contain many secondary plant compounds (such as chlorophyll). Our raw extract is made from flowers only and therefore has a higher concentration of cannabinoids – unlike extracts for which the whole plant is extracted. The intense flavour also comes from these flowers.

This full or raw extract is then dissolved in hemp seed oil. This carefully selected combination of full extract and hemp oil enhances the so-called entourage effect, and the maximum potential of the CBD unfolds – unlike pure CBD substance “on its own”. Nature has thought carefully about which ingredients occur in the hemp plant. And we make use of this wisdom of nature in our full spectrum CBD oils.

Choosing the right CBD oil

Other manufacturers often dissolve CBD extracts in sesame oil because this oil keeps for longer. At the same time, the fatty acids in sesame oil are not as balanced for the human body as those in hemp oil.

MCT oil – obtained from coconut or palm oil – is also frequently used. It contains medium-chain fatty acids (C8 to C12) and is considered particularly mild in taste.

Many customers appreciate MCT-based CBD oils because they are perceived as less intense than hemp oil-based variants. In the past, we also had MCT-based products in our range – the knowledge from that time still feeds into the development of our current oils today.

What should you look out for when buying CBD oil?

One of the most important figures when comparing different suppliers of CBD oil is the ratio of CBD in milligrams to euros. This lets you easily work out the price per milligram of CBD. That way you can compare what lies behind big promises – there are often real surprises here, as ARGE Canna investigated using a frequently requested brand as an example.

In our oils you get up to 2,000 mg of CBD per 10ml, as well as other cannabinoids and terpenes. So you don’t need 300 drops a day to achieve the desired effect.
