    Meet Our Everyday Heroes!

In mid-March we launched our campaign “CBD for heroes”. Today we want to give you an update and introduce the everyday heroes who got in touch with us.

Because of Covid-19, we were all forced to restrict the freedoms we take for granted and leave our everyday lives behind. For many of us, this means an enormous psychological burden: for those who can no longer follow their usual routines, but also for everyone working in essential jobs. CBD can help to keep a cool head and stay focused and provide a little relaxation. That is why we decided to share CBD with those who need it most urgently.

Several hundred emails & parcels with CBD

The (email) rush for our campaign was bigger than expected: we received over 400 emails with all kinds of stories from your everyday lives. We would like to share an extract of your many different messages with you here:

To protect everyone who wrote to us, we have anonymised their submissions and stories.

Let us not forget that there are tens of thousands of people who have been doing essential work and continue to do so: from the staff of the AMS and the police, retail workers and cleaners to medical staff, refuse collection workers and educators. The list is long, and you will (rightly) point out to us that it is not complete. 💚

The campaign was also a challenge for us: first we had to go through all the emails and notify you. Within a very short time, our colleagues in production set up the necessary infrastructure to send CBDeus to all the lucky ones. For all those we could not give a gift to because of the large number of requests, we created a discount code to at least provide them with affordable supplies.

We want to take this blog post as an opportunity to say thank you: to everyone who shared their stories with us, to everyone who motivates us every day with their positive feedback, and also to those who are still on duty.

    On the term “everyday heroes”

We are aware that the term hero in connection with the key workers of the coronavirus crisis is also being questioned and discussed. We want to give this a place here and raise awareness that “the key workers” do not only keep the system running during the crisis – and therefore need our thanks, our recognition and, even more, our solidarity not only during the crisis. That is why, by agreement, we are linking to an Instagram post by @frauschwester_, who writes here about the problems with the term “hero”.
