MAGU at the Cannabis Business Conference in Cologne

On 7 and 8 November, the Cannabis Business Europe Conference took place in Cologne. Sofie and Sebi were there and brought back some exciting impressions.

Sofie was there as a speaker and gave an extensive talk on the challenges and opportunities in the Austrian CBD cannabis industry. The talk covered, on the one hand, the challenges we have repeatedly come up against since 2017 and, on the other hand, today’s legal regulations, which are not clear (even to those present there).

If the authorities themselves do not know how to handle a product then it’s up to courageous entrepreneurs to lead the way.

Using MAGU as an example, Sofie explained the history of the CBD industry in Austria, from the pop-up store and our own shop at Esterhazygasse 34 in Vienna in 2017, through various changes in the interpretation of laws, to our CBD survey 2019.

Sofie’s talk ended with the words: “There are brands that follow the market and then there are brands that create the market. Believe in the potential of the market and be the second.” And that is exactly what all of us at MAGU believe in.

Sebi discussed the questionable practice of washing down the THC content of flowers with other companies. The two also hosted a round table on the future of the Austrian CBD industry. Besides the many insights from Cologne, we are most pleased about the interesting new contacts.
